Daniel and Sarah Engagement

We met over lunch at Panera a few months ago, and I knew instantly that Daniel and Sarah would be a delight to work with. I had only recently learned I was pregnant, and as Sarah blessed our food, she thanked God for the life he had created in me. At this meeting that was supposed to be all about their upcoming wedding, she was genuinely excited for me - a stranger she hardly knew.

I just love that it looks like they're praying here. Reminds me of her sweet prayer for my Charlotte.

Sarah is a pastor at a local United Methodist church.
I hear she's even on TV. I need to set up my DVR to check her out!

We started out at the Knoxville Arboretum. I've heard so much about it, and when Sarah requested it, I couldn't wait to shoot there.

The blooms on these trees got me all giddy inside:)

These two are so in love.

And so fun in front of the camera!

Who knew you could find a view like this just off Magnolia Avenue?

I stumbled upon them all snuggled up with Daniel wrapped in Sarah's scarf. And I didn't even have to set it up!

Sarah and Daniel, you are awesome. I know your wedding will be a beautiful celebration of your love.

Brandon and Kellie Engagement

I was so excited to finally meet Kellie and to see Brandon again for their engagement session at the World's Fair Park. We graduated high school together, and I haven't seen Brandon since - that's seven years in case you're counting!

Thanks to two awesome friends - Kellie was referred to me twice and decided to give me a call.

I'm so glad she did because I get to document their wedding coming up in the next few weeks.

Too sweet!

The sun flare in the picture just makes me happy :)

Couples in love are so easy to direct.

Me: "Just go over there and hang out. Talk. Laugh. Be yourselves."

And this is what they give me. Love it!

I love that at the Worlds Fair Park you can go from railroad tracks, to trees and flowers, to alleyways...

..to loading docks in just a few steps.

So pumped about your wedding guys! Can't wait to share your special day with you!

Smiddy Family

I met the Smiddys at their family farm in Campbell County for some fun family photos. How about that alliteration! Amanda is an English teacher too, so I know she'll appreciate my nerdy English teacher humor :)

The session started out on an adventurous note. Slade dropped me off in a field and went back in the off-road utility vehicle to pick up Amanda and Carson. I was delighted when I saw the scenery. It's a photographer's dream!

I immediately started for this hill to check out the view from the top.

Until I was greeted by the running cows! Who knew cows ran? And they actually do moo! Yes, I took this picture as I was running away from them. I knew it would be a moment to remember :)

As soon as Slade and Amanda pulled in, I totally played it cool acting like it was totally natural to be fifteen feet away from these mooing beasts. Not sure if they were fooled or not :)

I have to say this adorable family was totally worth the cow scare.

I can't believe how much Carson has grown since last summer. Isn't he the cutest?

Now he is all boy - hanging out with cows...

Riding on the tractor...

Playing around the farm...

He is such a charmer.

He's definitely my favorite greeter at church.

Who wouldn't love to be welcomed by this sweet face on a Sunday morning?
Thank you Smiddy family for such a fun day!

Kinsley S. Newborn Session

What a delight it was to photograph sweet Kinsley just two weeks after she was born. We've prayed hard for this girl, so it was amazing to see God's answered prayer right before our eyes.
Kim sure has picked up this whole Mama thing pretty quickly.

I think she might be having a little fun dressing her up, too :)

My first clue was the Ralph Lauren gown she was wearing when we visited at the hospital.

But, seriously. How adorable is this tutu? Those colors are fabulous!

Doesn't she look angelic here?

Baby girl was sleeping hard.

I'm thinking Kinsley and my Charlotte just might be besties for life.

I can't wait to tell them about the time I was holding Kinsley, and Charlotte was kicking around in my belly.

This just might be the one that made Kim and I burst into tears mid-session.

Can you blame us, though? She is perfection.
